Frequently asked questions

Your questions, our answers

Is the app free?

The app is free, on iOS as on Android. More than nine tours out of ten are free too; the rest usually cost between 1 and 12 €. The price is always shown before you download a tour.

Do I have to be on site to walk a tour?

Yes. Tours are designed to be lived in the places they tell about: the stops trigger when you are there. You can browse the tour pages beforehand to prepare your visit.

Do I need virtual reality glasses?

No. Everything can be seen on your phone or tablet. A selection of tours also offers an immersive experience with virtual reality glasses, on sale at tourist office desks and from partner shops.

Does it work without a connection?

Yes, and that is in fact the normal way to use it: the tour downloads before you set off, media included. So plan to fetch it at home or at the tourist office — once it is on your phone, it no longer needs a network.

Which devices?

iPhone and iPad, Android phones and tablets. Minimum versions are listed on the App Store and Google Play pages, which are authoritative.

What is the difference between the website and the app?

On live.legendr.app you can browse destinations and tour pages from any browser. To walk a tour, the app is needed in most cases: virtual reality, augmented reality, sensor-based games and offline mode exist only in the app.

Is it suitable for children?

Many tours include games, quizzes and treasure hunts designed for families. A “family” filter shows only those, and both the duration and the intended audience are given on every tour page.

Which languages?

The app is available in eight languages, and the number is growing. The tours themselves are translated destination by destination — often far beyond that, regional languages included. Your phone’s language is picked up automatically.

What do you do with my data?

The privacy policy sets out the data collected, what it is used for and your rights. You can read it on live.legendr.app.
